If you choose to use handicap features, we may collect: - South African Player ID - HNA username - HNA password
These credentials are used solely to provide handicap-related functionality and are protected using industry-standard encryption, including AWS Key Management Service (KMS).
We collect information required to provide the platform, including rounds, scores, statistics, achievements, leaderboards, followers, Golf Days, club competitions and other golfing activity.
You may upload profile photos, round photos and videos.
We collect device and usage information necessary to operate and improve Putt. We use services including Mixpanel, Google Analytics, Firebase Analytics, Vercel Analytics and Sentry.
We use your information to: - provide the Putt platform; - calculate statistics and handicaps; - administer rounds, competitions and Golf Days; - send push notifications and emails relating to your account; - improve our products and services; - diagnose technical issues; - protect the security of the platform; and - comply with legal obligations.
Putt is designed as a social golfing platform.
Unless otherwise stated, your name, profile photo, golf statistics, achievements, leaderboard positions, rounds, photos and videos may be visible to other users as part of the normal operation of the platform.
Some golf clubs use Putt to administer club rounds and competitions.
Users may also create and manage Golf Days using Putt.
If you participate in a club-managed round or Golf Day, authorised club representatives or Golf Day organisers may access information relating to that specific event in order to administer it. This includes participant details, scores, statistics and other information relevant to that event only.
Photos and videos you upload may be visible to other users of Putt in connection with the rounds or events in which they were shared.
Putt may send push notifications and emails relating to: - new followers; - invitations to rounds or Golf Days; - vouchers and rewards; - achievements and leaderboards; - password resets; - important service announcements; and - promotional communications (approximately once per month).
You may opt out of marketing communications where permitted.
Premium subscriptions are processed through the Apple App Store or Google Play Store.
Putt does not receive or store your payment card information.
We do not sell or rent your personal information.
We may share information: - with service providers who help operate Putt; - with golf clubs or Golf Day organisers for events you participate in; - where required by law; or - to protect the security, rights or integrity of Putt.
We may use or disclose aggregated or anonymized information that cannot reasonably identify an individual for analytics, reporting or business purposes.
You may request deletion of your account at any time.
When your account is deleted we permanently delete or irreversibly anonymize personal information associated with your account, including your identifying details and authentication information.
Historical golf rounds, scores, statistics, achievements and leaderboard history may be retained only in anonymized form so competition history and platform statistics remain accurate.
Deleted or anonymized personal information cannot be recovered.
We retain personal information only for as long as necessary to provide our services, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, protect the platform or fulfil the purposes described in this policy.
We use reasonable technical and organisational safeguards to protect your information against unauthorised access, disclosure, alteration or destruction.
No internet service can guarantee absolute security, but we continually review and improve our security practices.
Putt welcomes golfers of all ages, including junior golfers.
We encourage parents and guardians to supervise younger users when using the platform.
Subject to applicable law, including POPIA, you may request access to, correction of or deletion of your personal information.
Our website may use cookies required for authentication, security and website functionality.
